Nasi Goreng

The national dish of Indonesia is "Nasi Goreng"

It's a flavorful fried rice dish that typically cooked with kecap manis (sweet soy sauce), shallots, garlic, tamarind and chili where it’s often being accompanied with various ingredients like prawns, chicken or fried eggs.

Indonesian cuisine is a collection of various regional culinary traditions that formed in the archipelagic nation of Indonesia. There are a wide variety of recipes and cuisines in part because Indonesia is composed of approximately 6,000 populated islands of the total 17,508 in the world's largest archipelago.

Nasi Goreng

Actually because of being a multi tribal land there are several types of regional cuisines are under consideration in this country’s national or traditional dishes based on indigenous culture with some foreign influences.

Examples of Indonesian Sundanese meals are following below:

Ikan bakar (grilled fish), nasi timbel (rice wrapped in banana leaf), ayam goreng (fried chicken), sambal, fried tempeh and tofu, and sayur asem; the bowl of water with lime is kobokan.
